LIT is building software to unlock the ability for people to invest in a broader range of investments and make sure that money gets routed to the best ideas.
Relative to stocks and bonds, ‘alternatives’ (which include assets like real estate, infrastructure, and funds like VC and private equity) currently represent a very small percentage of most people’s portfolios, largely because they’re newer and more difficult to transact in.
That said, if you look at advisors’ expressed interest in shifting their strategy into these investments, we expect this to be a $3 trillion space in the next 5 years.
If we do our job correctly, a much broader pool of savings will be able to understand and access the highest-performing investments. This will also mean many of the ideas most accretive society are getting financing, contributing to the overall welfare of the financial economy and the long-term productivity growth of the global economy.
