The Back Story

The founding team of Sentons started the company back in 2011 after selling our previous company (a RF-chip company) to a large China-based semiconductor company. Looking for the next big thing to do, we started looking ways to apply our know-how from the RF world to new applications... and we set after the touch panel market.

We have always been big believers in touch interfaces, but the touch sensor technologies on the market at the time (like the capacitive screens used on your iPhone/iPad) were not scalable beyond small size screens. We were convinced that using some fancy tricks from our background in RF signal processing, we could create a new type of touch sensing technology that was scalable to large size screens while still delivering the same great user experience as on small size capacitive touch screens. In the past 4 years we've taken that from an unproven idea to a commercial success.

What's Next

Recently we have decided to take it one step further -- After eating/breathing/sleeping large-size touch screens for such a long time, we came across a unique product opportunity in a space ripe for innovation and a perfect fit for our technology. Too good to pass up, and with strong backing from our team and investors, we have set off on building a complete product on our own instead of just selling our technology components to others. What is it? In short, we're trying to bring the conference room into the 21st century by creating a user-friendly new HW/SW tool that enables remote team collaboration in companies. Think whiteboard + Evernote + video conferencing.... We'll be happy to share more details in person.

We are currently building a world-class team of designers, developers, hardware gurus, marketers, and other "product people" to bring this product to market in 2016. It's an exciting opportunity to work on something truly unique -- not just another web or mobile app, not just another "smartwatch", and not just another "uber for x". We firmly believe we're building something useful and valuable which can really impact how people work. We've had a lot of fun doing it so far, and the party is just getting started....
