The idea for Smartzer grew out of the founder Karoline Gross's fashion documentary production company in Los Angeles, where she wanted to add an interactive element to the content that was produced. Since there was no obvious solutions she decided to build this herself and a CalTech graduate Bill Woody joined to build the initial prototype.
Since then Smartzer has been established in London. When doing our initial trials with interactive videos, we realised the huge value retailers and brands gain from the data we were collecting from these interactions. Based on this we adjusted the product to become a video based demand prediction tool that helps the brands all the way through to pushing sales when the products become available. Our goal is to further develop the product into a fully automated and scalable system - this is the challenge for the new developers joining our team. We are looking to build our team with great talent with a long term commitment and shared vision.
