From exciting and diverse content briefs for renowned brands, broadcasters and publishers to the annual The Smalls Festival, the aim of The Smalls is to champion independent filmmaking talent and create commercial opportunities for its members.

The Smalls provides brands, agencies and publishers with all aspects of video content creation and strategy. In addition to an authentic, diverse community of award-winning, independent filmmaking talent, The Smalls has a team of producers, account managers and content strategists with an unrivalled passion for and expertise in video. From offering a full content strategy to commissioning a one-off piece of video content, The Smalls team is on hand to provide insight on industry trends, help establish the brief, offer creative advice and full support from idea conception, through production to distribution.

Festival

The Smalls Festival is a celebration of independent filmmaking with a focus on creating commercial opportunities and putting the spotlight on the best talent in short film and video. The five day event attended by creative professionals features sessions, showcases, workshops, panel discussions and a variety of networking opportunities. The week culminates in The Smalls Awards rewarding the best short films and videos of the past year.

The Smalls Festival began in 2006 with an exhibition and awards for short films showcased on video iPods in Covent Garden, London. ‘The Smalls: Small Films for Small Screens’, celebrated the opportunities for filmmakers brought about by the emergence of new technology, signalling a new era in film and video with unprecedented reach. Since the first event the festival has grown every year and continues to provide inspiration, connections, knowledge sharing and community around independent filmmaking and storytelling.
