The Integrated Service Center (ISC) supports the University's faculty, staff and student workers by serving as a first point of contact for designated HR and Payroll inquiries and by processing a limited scope of centralized Human Capital Management (HCM) transactions (i.e., within the HR, Benefits and Payroll domains). The hallmarks of the ISC are delivering services that are timely, accurate and highly attuned to the fast-paced university environment.
The ISC has an outstanding full time opportunity for an Application Analyst for Reporting.
Reporting to the ISC Technology Manager for Reporting, the Application Analyst for Reporting will support Tier 3 Application Management functions for the Reporting modules in Workday HCM, a cloud-based human resource management software system. Workday Reporting capabilities encompass defining reports requirements, developing reports, and configuring existing reports to accommodate business need. More specific responsibilities will include coordinating with other ISC team members as well as Campus constituents to analyze report needs, documenting requirements and report use case scenarios, and participating in testing/ validation of reporting functionality changes. In performing these duties, the incumbent will analyze business problems and processes to identify functional and non-functional solutions HR/Payroll needs of the University.
As a contributor to the Reporting Application Support team, the Application Analyst for Reporting will serve as a subject matter expert within the Workday Reporting domain to ensure design, development, configuration, testing and launch of Reporting features are complete and functional, both independently and in coordination with all other dependent Workday features. Further, this role will require insight into business process and technical considerations and encompass cognizance of relevant campus needs of HR/Payroll information and data utilization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Workday Reports Module Configuration:
Leverage knowledge of business process and technical inter- dependencies, utilizing understanding of foundational design concepts, data conventions and workflow dependencies
Evaluate and assimilate evolving Workday Reports functionality, remaining cognizant of complex system inter-dependencies and associated business process implications
Analyze business problems and processes to identify solutions supporting the Reporting needs of the University
Function as reports expert supporting resolution of reports stakeholder inquiries and reports troubleshooting on a Team Queue as part of monthly rotation
Complete identification and implementation of Workday Reporting configuration changes
Collaborate with team members to ensure functionality of reports continue as planned, and any new reports are completed to meet the business need
Adhere to protocols and standards for facilitating reports configurations and software changes in an accurate, efficient and compliant manner
Evaluate processes, identify improvement opportunities and implement required updates/enhancements in the context of a continuous improvement framework
Business Systems Analyst Support:
Requirements Gathering: Discover and research system requirements from users, customers and stakeholders including coordination with internal ISC Tier resources across the HCM, Benefits, and Payroll spectrum
Documentation: Create and maintain functional team deliverables, including ensuring cross functional documentation consistency and facilitating deliverable review
Analysis: Understand how business requirements can be configured in reports and convert functional design needs into report design documentation
Data: Provide cross functional understanding of data, support in validation of new or revised reports
Testing: Support the creation of test scenarios and the execution of testing
Knowledge Management, Training & Communication:
Maintain productive relationships with designated stakeholders to understand time and absence domain policies, procedures and established standards
Support ISC knowledge management processes, including identification and verification of additions/changes to the working repository of knowledge content
Support ISC training activities, including development and verification of relevant content
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors Degree in Information Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Administration, Human Resources or related area and four years experience
Experience working with SaaS systems configuration and maintenance
Experience analyzing complex Higher Education Administration or HR/Payroll processes
Ability to communicate clearly, in writing and in verbal presentations, to both technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to create and assimilate business process documentation
Extensive experience interacting with customers, including resolution of complex inquiries and effectively prioritizing during high-volume timeframes
Experience supporting system testing and/or data validation activities
Demonstrated excellent written/oral communication skills, technical documentation skills, user liaison skills, and personal interaction abilities
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
DESIRED:
Master's degree in Business Administration, Information Science, Human Resources or related field
Experience with reporting modules in Workday
Experience with Lean, Agile, Scrum, and/or Kanban Methodologies
Experience playing an individual contributor role within a shared services environment
Working experience executing relevant business processes at the University of Washington or other education environment
Experience in the use of customer support infrastructure tools, including a case management system, knowledge base and associated reporting tools
