Morgan Stanley Services Group, Inc. seeks an Associate, Technology Production Support in New York, New York
Support the Firm's trading platforms by analyzing application logs, running SQL queries, and working with development and infrastructure teams as well as external vendors. Create, revise and maintain documentation across all trading applications. Review functional and technical specifications. Participate in the implementation and rollout of new services and products. Analyze and identify production support patterns, alerts, and monitoring gaps to provide solutions, standards, and best practices. Partner with various IT groups to implement solutions such as onboarding Runbook Automation workflows. Participating in incident management processes, conducting resolution, root cause analysis, and technology and business reporting and communication. Provide written detailed updates using an incident management tool to enable efficient and effective trending of issues and escalate severity issues as appropriate. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical and business issues which must be able to consistently meet or exceed SLA requirements. Oversee FIX connectivity and interface with external vendors and their technical support and development teams to resolve connectivity and order flow issues. Create trending and analysis and drive significant improvement response and quality of services. Adhere to Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Permit to Operate standards as part of work transition from development to level 2 support. Automate report creation requests from the business using SQL and Shell scripts.
Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (any), Computer Science, or a related field of study and five (5) in the position offered or five (5) years as an Analyst Technology Production Support, Associate Technology Production Support, or related occupation in the technology field. Requires five (5) years of experience with the following skills: providing trade support experience; trading system knowledge including down-to-order flow and order booking; supporting desktop and web applications in a trading environment; Sybase; Windows; command line and shell scripts; writing complex SQL queries; Unix/Linux OS and scripting language; FIX protocol including conducting FIX sessions between a trading desk and brokers/ECNs; troubleshooting FIX connectivity; analyzing logs and event files; and Tomcat and Apache Servers admin management. Requires three (3) years of experience with: SQL Server; DB2; monitoring and automation experience including Autosys, Check Nanny, Watch Tower, Sockeye configuration, ServiceNow and Window deploy; and troubleshooting and production support including Splunk, ExtraHop, or App Dynamics. Requires two (2) years of experience working in the Wealth Management and Capital Markets business.
