About Amazon

Job Description

For millions of customers worldwide, the Amazon name is synonymous with delivery - and the Delivery Experience (DEX) team provides those customers with innovative ways to get what they want and need, enabling the choices they make for every order they place. We combine customer impact with invention, solving technical challenges along the way. DEX defines, builds, launches and manages customer-facing delivery programs and features across all of Amazon. We own systems that power retail delivery (both customer-facing and back-end), leveraging company-wide technology solutions or designing them from the ground up. Together, DEX is changing how customers experience delivery - from the speed, convenience, and selection features they see on the site to launching Prime delivery benefits and other new programs to customers around the world.

You are right, a lot. You get a lot done. You work very efficiently and routinely to deliver the right things. You have a team-wide view of the analytical solutions that you build, and you consistently think in terms of automating or expanding the results. You have performed multiple complex, and business critical analyses that serve major parts of the business. Your work and your approach to work are exemplary - you drive best practices and set standards for your team. You are a key influencer in the DEX strategy and contribute significantly to working backwards from the customer.

You show good judgement making technical trade-offs between your group's short term and long term business needs, and the needs of the company as a whole. When confronted with discordant views, you find the best way forward and convince your team. You proactively contribute to knowledge-sharing across the wider analytical community. You demonstrate resilience and navigate difficult situations with composure and tact.

Responsibilities include:

* Owning the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions.
* Drive adoption and increase visibility into key measures of business performance.
* Proposing and prioritizing changes to key metric reporting, creating additional metrics and processes based on program changes and customer requirements, and owning the data presented.
* Design, implement, and support key datasets that provide structured and timely access to actionable business information.
* Interfacing with business customers to gather data and metrics requirements, then driving analytic projects which will help solve complex challenges.
* Perform deep-dives to find the root causes behind variances of key parameters.
* Analyzing billions of rows of data and driving insights related to operation and compliance.
* Investigate and implement new big data technologies to provide automatic resolutions to address stakeholder needs.
