COMPUTER SUPPORT ASSISTANT, Plasma Science and Fusion Center (PSFC), to resolve routine IT hardware, software, network, and security issues on a day-to-day basis as part of PSFC's IT team. Will test and troubleshoot applications and programs; respond to routine alerts, telephone calls, and or/walk-in-traffic and identify which issues to escalate; follow up on outstanding request and ensure timely resolution; create accounts and configure software/hardware as part of on-boarding process; resolve complex audiovisual equipment issues in conference/meeting rooms; install, configure, and update IT hardware and software and troubleshoot system desktop computer system issues; communicate technical concepts in common terms to ensure understanding; generate necessary reports on staff hardware/software issues; monitor and communicate system status to management and develop necessary reports; and recommend improvements and upgrade for operational and network systems. May provide second-tier support after a problem has been triaged by the IT team.
