Job Description
Facebook AR\VR focuses on delivering Facebook's vision through Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR). The compute performance and power efficiency requirements of Virtual and Augmented Reality require custom silicon. Facebook Silicon team is driving the state of the art forward with breakthrough work in computer vision, machine learning, mixed reality, graphics, displays, sensors, and new ways to map the human body. Our chips will enable AR and VR devices where our real and virtual world mix and match throughout the day. We believe the only way to achieve our goals is to look at the entire stack, from transistor, through architecture, to firmware, and algorithms.
We are seeking an Embedded System Test Engineer to support development of ASICs custom-designed for computer vision and machine learning. The successful candidate will be part of a team that includes algorithm, user experience, software, firmware and silicon experts.
The ideal candidate will take ownership of the integration and test environment. They will work cross-functionally to ensure our custom designed ASICs and firmware and software stacks function optimally. This is a full-time position based in either our Redmond, WA or Menlo Park, CA offices.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Lead ASIC and system embedded software testbed architecture definition in coordination with cross-functional teams in order to streamline silicon bring-up and integration activities.
End-to-end firmware test infrastructure development to support testing of power-management, boot loaders, scheduling, RTOS and/or bare-metal implementations.
Review firmware, hardware and IP architectures to ensure testability evaluate integration risks.
Develop software and related tools to automate testing of a large variety of interfaces, including PCIE, MIPI, USB, Wireless, QSPI, etc.
Support all phases of SoC development - including early architecture requirements definition for custom silicon, firmware architecture, implementation, simulation, FPGA debug, chip bring-up and support systems and software teams.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* B.S. degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
5+ years of software and test experience with at least 1 year related to embedded systems
1+ years of experience in data acquisition systems and diagnostic equipment, such as oscilloscopes, bus analyzers, and power supplies
Experience in software design and programming experience, and knowledge of how embedded systems work, including common bus protocols, such as I2C, SPI, USB, and/or PCIE
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Experience with integration and testing for a complex system
Experience with low level operating systems, RTOS, UBOOT, or other bare-metal programming
Knowledge of camera interfaces, real time systems, and/or low power systems
Experience coding with peripherals such as UART, SPI, CSI-2, i2c, GPIO, USB, PCIE
Experience in real-time processing for computer vision and user interaction tasks, high-compute/throughput systems and using simulation and modeling technique to estimate performance and power
