Provides design recommendations. Develops enterprise level applications and custom integration solutions including major enhancements, interfaces, functions and features. POSITION DESCRIPTION Job Title: Enterprise Architect Lead Essential Job Duties and Tasks Creates the framework and strategy for the technology and processes across all facets of business requirements, including Power System Operations, Wholesale and Retail Market Operations, Market Monitoring and Corporate Services Advises, recommends and justifies critical architecture decisions to management and senior staff Directs the development and indoctrination of ERCOT IT standards by leading the EA Working Group Lays out the framework for architectural strategies for IT infrastructure and business applications Conveys team goals effectively through strong written and verbal communication skills Works on moderately complex issues where analysis of situations requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors Applies in-depth knowledge of business and IT to validate the cost-benefit analysis of IT initiatives Partners with key hardware and software vendors on short term and long term strategies to ensure consistency in needs determination and delivery expectations ensure consistency in needs determination and delivery expectations Educates IT and business groups on ERCOT's enterprise-wide approach to IT solutions and integration opportunities Acts as interface to Business with regards to IT strategy and technology with an emphasis on defining requirements, synergies, and value Provides expertise regarding the integration of applications across the business. Understands business needs as well as customer and market requirements. Prepares and documents architecture plans. Acts as an internal consultant, advocate, mentor and change agent. Applies creativity, in-depth technical and theoretical knowledge, and experience in solving highly complex architectural design problems. Works with project sponsors and business owners validate requirements, costs, and benefits of projects ensuring consistency in prioritization across business units Provides critical analysis of current and future architectural and business direction Maintains the roadmap for business and IT initiaitvesinitiatives QUALIFICATIONS Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's degree in Computer Science preferred. Certifications TOGAF certification preferred. Work Experience Minimum of 8 years of experience (in excess of degree requirements).
