Overview

The IT Consultant works as a technical resource in selling and implementing the SSI WMS software suite to customers. The sales consultant completely understands the capabilities of the SSI software suite including Warehouse Management System (WMS), Warehouse Enterprise System (WES), Labor Management System (LMS) among others, and is able to explain the differences and capabilities to customers. The consultant will work to answer Requests for Proposal (RFP), Request for Information (RFI) and other documents potential customers may use during the sales process as well as specify and configure the software during the implementation process. This work will require interfacing with customer IT/systems departments and the SSI software departments both in the US and abroad. This position requires knowledge about, software development tools, software architecture, operating systems, hardware and network design and databases. Communication skills are essential as the software consultant will frequently talk to customers.

Responsibilities

* Analyses and defines requirements for software solutions for enterprise level WMS and/or Supply Chain Execution Systems.
* Creates IT requirement specifications for projects
* Designs software, hardware and network architecture based on project requirements and the existing product offerings
* Frequently communicates and meets with customers during all project phases
* Identifies and documents customer process flows
* Designs software solutions based on software requirement specifications
* Creates software documentation for own software implementation and that of others
* Actively communicates with team members about the work and project status
* Sets-up test scenarios for commissioning and executes those.
* May travel internationally for training and project assignments
* Travel is dependent on stage of engagement and could be from 40-90%



Qualifications

* Knowledge of WMS Software Capabilities - Minimum 3 years required
* IT/Software Design/Implementation Experience - Desired
* Logistics/Supply Chain Knowledge/Training - 3-5 years required
