Facebook is growing our Knowledge Management team and we're looking for an individual who will lead the development of enterprise products that increase employee productivity by helping them create, curate and find the information they need to do their jobs effectively and efficiently. These products integrate closely with Facebook's Corporate Information Systems.

The right person for this role contribute to the product vision, engage in team building and product execution, and focus on driving the goals and metrics that maximize impact for our customers and the company.

The Knowledge Management group is part of the larger Knowledge, Marketing, & Sales organization within Enterprise Engineering. KMS is a product-focused organization focused on building products for Facebook teams across the globe. The Enterprise Engineering organization at Facebook builds innovative solutions to business problems that enable world class productivity for our company, and have an impact on the industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Manage 2 managers and a team of 7 or 8 engineers directly. The team is split between New York (about a dozen people) and London (4 people).



Have product, search ranking, and machine learning experience.

Recruit, inspire, and develop team members across a wide range of experience levels from recent college hires to industry veterans.

Hold your own in technical discussions, be a subject matter expert, and have strategic influence.

Communicate cross-functionally across various teams, organizations and internal and external stakeholders to drive engineering efforts. Our customers are global and have varying needs.

Partner with product management and UX design teams to design and develop consumer-grade user interfaces, underlying APIs and backend systems.

Work with data engineering, data science and machine learning teams to optimize recommendation and search systems for a wide variety of customers.

Encourage a data-driven culture to improve the efficiency, scalability, stability and security of business applications and in-house systems to help scale the company.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

* 10+ years of software engineering work experience, including hands-on technical management, experience managing managers, and leading distributed teams



5+ years coding in one of the following languages: Python, C++, Java, and/or PHP

Demonstrated experience recruiting and managing technical teams, including performance management

4+ years experience building scaled machine learning systems

BA/BS in Computer Science (In lieu of degree, 4+ years work experience)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* 4+ years experience building scaled machine learning systems such as search systems
