Departmental Overview

The College of Environmental Design (CED) operates three academic departments - Architecture, City and Regional Planning and Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning - conferring both undergraduate and graduate degrees. CED has 55 full-time and 35 part-time teaching faculty, 44 career staff, and over 1,000 students. The operations of the College are financed with state funds, gifts and endowments and other revenue sources in an amount roughly totaling $18,000,000 annually.

Responsibilities

The College of Environmental Design (CED) is seeking an experienced applications programmer to design, develop, modify, test, evaluate and maintain college transactional and data applications. Duties will include test-to-production processes, quality assurance, maintenance and documentation of developed applications.

The programmer will apply acquired job skills, policies, and procedures to complete substantive assignments/projects/tasks of moderate scope and complexity. He/She will be expected to exercise judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action. Responsibilities include coding Access front-end to SQL back-end databases to support multi-user data entry, developing conversion and system implementation plans, and gathering and analyzing data to prepare system and programming documentation.

Required Qualifications

This is a temporary, part-time position (43% time)*

* Requires basic knowledge of applications programming function.
* Requires Windows 10 experience.
* Requires MS Access front end and SQL back end experience.
* Requires .NET and C#.
* Requires HTML, CSS, and Node.js experience.
* Must have skills associated with programming design, modification, documentation, and

implementation.

* Must have application design and development experience.
* Good to have ability to communicate technical information in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical staff.
* Self-motivated, able to learn quickly, meet deadlines, and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
* Bachelors degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.

* This position is a 43% part-time, temporary position.
* The hourly salary range designated for this position: $22.80 - $34.91; however, starting salary will be commensurate with experience.
