About Amazon

Job Description

AWS users want to know what's going on in their account. CloudTrail is like a flight recorder for all activity within users' AWS accounts. CloudTrail allows AWS users to answer the question of who/what/when/where within their account. CloudTrail quickly became a critical component of customers' use of AWS, particularly enterprise use. We integrate with virtually all AWS services. CloudTrail is the place for people up to the challenge of processing huge amounts of super important data.

CloudTrail has grown significantly since its launch in 2013. We are looking for a strong software development manager to own multiple customer-facing critical areas of the service. Customers want CloudTrail to be broader, deeper, faster, and smarter. There are many new opportunities for growth in CloudTrail, and we need an experienced engineering leader to help define the direction and drive toward it, while continue to grow the high-performing team. This leader's responsibilities will include owning the design and delivery of the software, managing its operations, and delivering on customer performance expectations. A successful candidate must be able to push through ambiguity, be able to staff a team of qualified developers and make them effective and happy, and be able to coordinate closely with other teams. If you are interested in living every day at the forefront of the intersection between distributed computing, security, big data, and machine learning, we want you to help us build this next generation service. Come be part of the revolution we're creating!

Key Strategic Objectives:

Manage and grow a high-performing development team to design, implement, and operate key portions of the AWS CloudTrail service.

Lead the production delivery, and a sustained high pace, of new feature development.

Make critical decisions regarding technology selection, balance feature and operational priorities, and set relentlessly high standards for quality and on-time delivery.

Define and execute against meaningful performance and operational SLAs that capture the customer experience.

Collaborate effectively with peer teams in Seattle and key partner services across AWS to deliver on the promise of providing a clear picture of account activity.

Have a capacity for strategic planning in conjunction with a detail-oriented focus and partner well with product management.
