Job Overview Role Lead the cloud center of excellence team at Qualcomm. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills and strong experience designing cloud architectures for the three leading cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) as well as a solid understanding of PaaS and container platform environments. Responsibilities Provide guidance and solutions architecture to Qualcomm engineering teams on the best ways to leverage cloud for their projects and the best solutions that meet their business needs Manage the provisioning, security, and governance for a large scale, multi-cloud, enterprise PaaS environment Drive automation of best practices in the cloud to deliver a simplified, secure and optimized cloud environment to Qualcomm engineers Stay current on latest developments in all cloud environments and leverage as much "out of the box" functionality from the cloud vendors as possible Manage relationships with cloud vendors and drive cohesive Qualcomm optimization strategy to manage costs across the cloud environments Partner with Qualcomm functional teams to maintain and evolve governance of the cloud including Legal, Security, Export Compliance, Data Sovereignty and Finance considerations Provide thought leadership on the best strategies for maintaining a hybrid cloud environment and the most impactful opportunities to transition services to cloud Acting as a technical leader for visible and complex projects, advocating for solutions across organizational boundaries Provide an easy on-ramp to the various cloud platforms though onboarding consultations, account creation automation, and architecture review Drive consistent vision for next generation computing technologies including hybrid containers leveraging Kubernetes and also Serverless technologies Skills Ability to define a concrete vision for project teams that incorporates diverse requirements from partner teams, industry trends and technology needs Ability to lead a highly skilled, empowered team of cloud architects, challenge and inspire them to achieve their best work and drive a cohesive cloud strategy Expert understanding and ability to succinctly convey the benefits of a cloud architecture, including native cloud services, infrastructure as code, cost optimizations and technical capability Expert AWS architecture knowledge SCRUM Agile development methodologies Software Development experience (Python, Java, UNIX shell, Powershell) Linux and Windows administration experience Experience with container platforms and microservices architectures All Qualcomm employees are expected to actively support diversity on their teams, and in the Company.
