Job Description

Morgan Stanley Services Group, Inc. seeks a Vice President, Database Infrastructure Developer in New York, New York

Develop and support test data across database management Firm platforms. Integrate database cloning vendor capabilities into Firm ecosystems. Construct Proof of Concepts (PoCs) to evaluate infrastructure products and options. Develop new utilities to automate database and database server provisioning. Enhance database utilities for expanded functionality. Integrate newly identified software into current database management systems. Enhance the current enterprise metadata configuration management system repository to incorporate new functionalities.

Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor's in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field of study and six (6) years of experience in the position offered or six (6) years as a Database Developer, Infrastructure Engineer, Systems Engineer, Software Engineer, or related occupation in the IT field. Requires five (5) years of experience with: development in Perl, Python, Unix or Shell scripting, C , and/or Java; software development life cycle (SDLC) management frameworks; source code management systems including Git or Subversion; CI/CD frameworks including Jenkins or Zuul; and software testing methodologies. Requires three (3) years of experience with: software integration projects for Hardware, Network, and Storage including SAN, NAS, and DAS; AFS, VMFS, NTFS, ZFS, VxFS, and EXT file systems; and VMware virtualization solutions including vSphere, ESXi and vCenter. Requires one (1) year of experience with: Cloud technology including AWS, Google, or OpenStack; Web Technologies including HTML, JSON, REST APIs, and Microservices; Development Operations automation tools including Ansible, Chef, SaltStack, Docker, and Zookeeper; relational database management systems including MySQL, SAP including Sybase, ASE, PostgreSQL, IMB DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, and/or Greenplum.
