They are usually the development team leader, and as such they need to have strong teambuilding and communication skills. Solutions Architects will oversee the development of a system through the entire lifecycle and must be able to ensure buy-in from the development team. A four-year degree in computer science or a related field is often a must; however, employers may want graduate level work as well.
