Mobile Engineer Salary in San Diego

Mobile Engineer Job Description

Mobile engineers develop and program mobile applications. They may work with Android, iOS, RIM, Windows Mobile and Symbian platforms, or develop expertise in only one or two of them. These engineers require in-depth knowledge of programming languages. They must also be able to use C++, C#, Objective C and Java for creating applications.

Mobile engineers may develop games, business-related or educational applications for each platform. They create native apps that work in a single platform, or hybrids that work across multiple platforms. They must be able to code and document changes, and provide monitoring and testing within the systems. Mobile engineers also need a working knowledge of common development platforms, including Visual Studio 2010, Xcode and Eclipse. This ensures they can create programs over a variety of mobile platforms and increases their market penetration.
