Backend Engineer Job Description

Backend engineers are responsible for either the hardware or physical infrastructure, or the data access layer of software. They use C++, Java, C# and .NET skills to create code that allows the database to communicate information to the browser. They possess skills in programming languages, and have the ability to troubleshoot, analyze and diagnose system hardware to ensure proper functioning and performance.

Backend engineers use creativity to tackle difficult problems and work with their teams towards common goals. Understanding and experience with data structures, cloud services, frameworks and software engineering applications are important skills that assist with keeping systems running at optimal performance. Backend engineers are needed in a variety of business models, including mobile applications, data processing centers and any organization that runs a major website.
